Shipping & Printing Standards

Welcome, fellow fashion enthusiasts! Today, we're going to dive into the exciting world of shipping, printing standards, and sizing of transfers.

For general information on DTF printing see our blog post here!

Shipping

Let's start with shipping. At DTF Reaper, we believe that waiting for your fabulous new threads shouldn't feel like an eternity (the reaper knows eternity well). That's why we offer lightning-fast shipping (well, not literally, but you get the idea). Our dedicated team of shipping gurus will work their elemental magic to get your order to you as quickly as possible. So, sit back, relax, and get ready to knock them dead with your new threads (we had too...)!

USPS is our standard shipping carrier.

  • Orders under $50 will be shipped at $4.99.
  • Free Shipping on orders of $50 or more!

Printing

Now, let's talk about printing standards. We take our printing seriously, but we don't take ourselves too seriously. Our talented team of print reapers use state-of-the-art equipment to bring your designs to life. We got the sharpest scythes in the shed! We're all about attention to detail, so you can expect crisp lines, vibrant colors, and designs that will make heads turn (in a good way, of course).

Now in order to do that there are a few things we need you to do for us! We need quality images, so consider the following:

  • 300ppi standard pixel density
  • Vector images if you need bi-directional scalability with no loss (e.g., SVG, TIFF, PDF)
  • Large PNGs if you need downward scalability with no loss, does not scale upward without penalties.
  • We print in CMYK color tones.
  • Resolutions at or exceeding 720x1200

The only option here that is mandatory is the 300ppi pixel density. A standard image of 72ppi won't do well with the sharpest of scythes!!

Whether you're into quirky slogans or eye-catching graphics, our printing standards will make your t-shirt scream (or...mmmhm, look really good).

Sizing

Finally, let's tackle sizing of transfers. We know that one size doesn't fit all, and that's why we offer a range of sizes sliced to fit every body type. From small to extra-large, we've got you covered (literally). Our sizing chart is your trusty sidekick in finding the perfect fit. So, grab a measuring tape, channel your inner demon (or fashionista), and let's find the size that will make you look killer (see what we did there)!

We offer seven sizes, and each size is depicted by the torso length (height) of the image. Thus, the long side running up the body (not width). It may seem complicated at first, but we will try and explain.

As images vary greatly in width and height, we provide a range where we try to achieve the largest number of the range without the image exceeding the width requirement of a T-Shirt (12" or less). This gives you the biggest image for your use that we can manage for the same price without affecting the quality of that image.

  • Shirt Pocket (as close to 3.5" as we can get and maintain image quality)
  • Small (5" or less)
  • Medium (7"-9")
  • Large (9"-11")
  • Extra Large (11"-13)
  • Really Big (13-15")
  • Super-size (>15)

PRESSING

Temp: 315F or 150C

Cover Material: Butcher paper (you can use Teflon, but you must increase your temperature to 160C)

Initial Press: 15 Seconds - You must be able to exert at least 10psi of pressure on the material surface by hand and DO NOT rub while under pressure (if your press does not cover the entire image). Ideally, you should press at 60psi (the gold standard). This is what our Pneumatic presses are regulated at in-house and perform an exceptional bond. Please ensure that you can see "the shirt fibers soaking up the image". We want to ensure that enough pressure is present that the image bonds into the shirt fibers and not just on the surface. You can tell this has happened by looking closely at the shirt once the transfer has been applied - if you cannot see the shirt fibers within the transfer image, we recommend pressing again.

Peel: After the Initial press has cooled (no more than just warm), peel the film from the image. Peel as low to the image as possible, dragging the back of your hand across the film diagonally.

Post-Press: 10 Seconds - DTF Transfers need a post-press once the film has been removed do to faint striations left by the film material. This enhances the overall appearance of the transfer and further seals the bond to the textile material.

Washing: Turn product inside out and wash with COLD water for the first wash.

IMPORTANT

We are not responsible for transfers that are pressed incorrectly.  Please make sure you are using the correct material, color, and press settings prior to pressing your transfer

NOTE: Sizes will be scaled proportionally to reach the size above by the height. In order to keep the image intact, we attempt to scale evenly by locking the x and y axis together, however, reaching larger numbers can be problematic if your image is wide by design. This may not be a factor if you are using this for something besides a shirt. Once the x axis exceeds 12" during our scaling process we will stop (regardless of where the height is) as the image will no longer fit appropriately on a T-Shirt.
